The commissioning of Silan Microelectronics' 8-inch silicon carbide power device chip manufacturing production line marks the entry of this production line into the substantive operation phase, effectively filling the domestic capacity gap in large-size silicon carbide chip manufacturing. Silan Microelectronics' 8-inch silicon carbide project is led by its subsidiary Silan Jihong. The project has a planned land area of approximately 205 acres, with a core area of 15,000 square meters for the main factory building. The total investment is 12 billion yuan, and the total construction area reaches 234,500 square meters. The project is divided into two phases, with an investment of 7 billion yuan in the first phase, which will achieve an annual production capacity of 420,000 8-inch silicon carbide chips upon commissioning. After the second phase is put into operation, the total production capacity will increase to 720,000 chips per year, making it the world's leading 8-inch silicon carbide power device production line. Silan Microelectronics' 12-inch high-end analog integrated circuit chip manufacturing production line will benchmark international leading standards, operate using an Integrated Design and Manufacturing (IDM) model, and possess fully independent intellectual property rights. The project is planned to be constructed in two phases: the first phase involves an investment of 10 billion yuan, with an initial commissioning and production expected in the fourth quarter of next year, and full production by 2030, at which point it will be capable of producing 240,000 12-inch analog integrated circuit chips annually. The second phase will involve an additional investment of 10 billion yuan. Upon completion of both phases, the annual production capacity will increase to 540,000 chips, effectively filling the domestic gap in key chips for industries such as automotive, industrial, large servers, robotics, and communications. This will alleviate China's long-standing heavy reliance on imports for high-end analog chips and significantly contribute to Xiamen's development as a hub for innovative advancements in the integrated circuit industry.
The project construction schedule is a two-year phase-by-phase project to complete the construction of the entire factory (building) covering an area of 278,000 square meters. It aims to achieve a production capacity of 20,000 wafers per month and 240,000 wafers per year, contributing a production value of 3 billion RMB. Currently, Silan Micro has established three major manufacturing bases in Xiamen, with projects such as Silan Jike, Silan Mingga, and Silan Jihong, forming the "Silan Industrial Cluster" and "Silan Industrial Park". This has created a comprehensive industrial ecosystem, injecting strong momentum into our city's efforts to seize future industrial opportunities, accelerate industrial transformation and upgrading, and develop new productive forces.
