Domestic 8-inch SiC substrate enterprises have formed a clear production capacity echelon characterized by "leading companies at the top, following companies in the middle, and catching-up companies at the bottom". The first echelon, represented by Tianyue Advanced, Tianke Huda, and San'an Optoelectronics, possesses large-scale mass production capabilities with a production capacity exceeding 100,000 wafers per year. Their products have been validated by international mainstream customers and occupy a major market share. Among them, Tianyue Advanced achieved a production capacity of 460,000 wafers per year for 8-inch substrates in 2024, with a target total production capacity of 600,000 wafers per year by 2025. The Shanghai Lingang factory achieved an annual production capacity of 300,000 conductive substrates in mid-2024 ahead of schedule, and is currently advancing the second phase of production capacity enhancement. The Jinan and Jining bases collaborate with the Lingang base to form a coordinated supply network. Tianke Huda achieved large-scale production of 8-inch substrates in 2024, with a total production capacity plan of 500,000 to 800,000 wafers (including 8-inch) and an epitaxial wafer production capacity of 250,000 wafers. The Beijing and Xuzhou bases serve as the core, while the Shenzhen joint venture company has further reinforced the production of 6-8 inch substrates and epitaxial wafers. The 8-inch products have been validated by mainstream device manufacturers both domestically and internationally and have secured multi-year LTA mass production orders. In the first half of 2025, San'an Optoelectronics' Hunan base achieved a production capacity of 1,000 wafers per month for 8-inch substrates and 2,000 wafers per month for epitaxial wafers. The Chongqing base, in collaboration with STMicroelectronics, plans to achieve a production capacity of 480,000 wafers per year for 8-inch substrates, which was launched in February 2025 and has already delivered samples for verification. The second echelon of enterprises, represented by Shuoke Crystal, Nansha Wafer, and Jingsheng Electromechanical (subsidiary Zhejiang Jingrui), have achieved small-scale or large-scale production with a production capacity of 50,000 to 100,000 wafers per year. After the second phase of the Shuoke Crystal project was launched in October 2024, it added a production capacity of 200,000 wafers per year for 6-8 inch substrates, elevating its total production capacity for 4-8 inch substrates to the top three globally, with the Taiyuan base serving as the core production site. Nansha Wafer officially launched its 8-inch project at its Jinan North base in 2024, achieving a production capacity of 50,000 wafers per year that year. It plans to increase the 8-inch production capacity to 500,000 wafers per year by 2025, forming a layout in Guangzhou, Zhongshan, and Jinan; By the end of 2024, Jingsheng Electromechanical will achieve a production capacity of 3,000 8-inch substrates per month (approximately 36,000 per year), with plans to increase to 60,000 per year in 2025. The supporting project for Ningxia Chuangsheng's annual production of 600,000 8-inch substrates commenced in July 2025. The first phase of the Penang base in Malaysia also plans to achieve an 8-inch production capacity of 240,000 per year, with international and domestic production capacities being promoted in a coordinated manner. Third-tier enterprises such as Keyou Semiconductor and Tiancheng Semiconductor, after completing technological breakthroughs, have entered the small-batch trial production or sample delivery stage, with production capacities below 50,000 per year. Keyou Semiconductor's 8-inch production capacity in 2025 will be 5,000 per year, with plans to expand to tens of thousands per year in the second phase. In 2023, it passed the phase acceptance of the "8-inch Silicon Carbide Substrate Material Equipment Development and Industrialization Process Research" project, achieving batch preparation capability. Tiancheng Semiconductor achieved 8-inch batch production in the first quarter of 2025, with a planned production capacity of 50,000 per year (including 6/8-inch) in the first phase. The Taiyuan base has independently developed an 8-inch processing technology, and the product quality has reached a leading domestic level.
